Dangers: High Blood pressure can result in Heart Attack,
arresting of heart, brain paralysis, kidney failure, eyesight related problem
and sometimes death.
Symptoms: Headache, nausea, giddiness, exhaustion, general
body aches and pain, increase in palpitation of the heart and pulse rate.
Mostly blood pressure in itself does not show any symptoms. If one develops
blood pressure after the age of 35 years, then he/she should go for regular
periodical check up of the heart, eyes and kidneys, especially when there is
family history of the disease or if you are living in stressful conditions.
Causes: Disorder of kidneys, emotional stress, hectic
lifestyle, loss of peace, hereditary factors, obesity, excessive drinking or
smoking.
People suffering from hypertension should go for proper
treatment as suggested by their physician and should follow proper diet and
exercise. The diet should not only be regular but also to be controlled with
limiting the intake of salt. Avoid stress, anger and anxiety and lead a
peaceful life. After the age of 35 one should have periodical check up of blood
pressure. It is advisable to sleep for 9 hours in the night and have nap during
the day after lunch. To lower the blood pressure limits the intake of salt up
to 1 gram per day. Go for liquid diet on every seventh day, take plenty of
water and stay away from intoxicants.
Treatment
People suffering from high blood pressure should keep their
bowels clear. To treat this condition they should regular take lemon water,
psyllium husk, Indian goose berry juice (amla juice), sprouts, lentils and
salads.
Fasting: People
suffering from high blood pressure should keep the fast once in seven days,
during the fast day they should only eat fruit and vegetables.
Tobacco, coffee, tea and non vegetarian foods are not advisable
for the people suffering from hypertension.
Yoga (Shavasana): Lie down straight on your back. Keep the
arms and legs straight and the heels joined. Close the eyes and let the body
relax completely, stop thinking, concentrate on breathing and breathe slowly. It
will give peace and relaxation.
Bottle Gourd: ½ cup of bottle gourd juice mixed with some
water, if taken three times a day, is very helpful.
Banana: Take ½ cup of
banana stem juice two times a day helps in treating high blood pressure.
Lemon: It has properties which provide strength to the
heart. Regular use of lemon makes the blood arteries flexible and soft and they
lose their stiffness. Thus, lemon is beneficial for people suffering from
hypertension. The heart remains strong till old age and there is no risk for
heart failure. Whatever the type of blood pressure, taking lemon in water
several times a day is useful. It is recommended to take lemon juice in warm
water in the morning.
Apple: It is beneficial to eat apples in high blood
pressure.
Papaya: It is highly effective in high blood pressure. The people
suffering from hypertension should consume papaya every day in the morning; it
will soon check the hypertension.
Mint Leaves: They regulate both high and low blood pressure.
Therefore, they should be taken regularly either in form of chutney or juice. The
people suffering from blood pressure should have mint leaves without adding
salt or sugar.
People suffering from hypertension can take mint leaves
chutney with rock salt, black pepper and raisins.
Tomato: It lowers the high blood pressure.
Indian Gooseberry (Amla): Taking Indian gooseberry preserve
daily in the morning is beneficial high blood pressure and heat of the blood. It
purifies the blood.
Long Cucumber: They contain high amount of potassium. Its
juice is beneficial in both high blood pressure and low blood pressure.
Potato: It normalizes the blood pressure. Boil potatoes in
water with salt added to it, potato peel does not absorb much salt but enhance
the taste. It is beneficial in high blood pressure. Potatoes have magnesium which
lowers the blood pressure.
Rice: Consuming rice for prolonger period reduces the
cholesterol, it also helpful in treating hypertension.
Massage: Regular body massage improves the condition of high
blood pressure.
Watermelon: The juice
of the seeds of watermelon contains the element known as kurkur bosytrine which
broadens the capillaries. It acts on the kidney and thereby lowers the blood
pressure. Grind watermelon seeds and put them in a cup of boiling water and let
them soak for an hour. Then stir, strain and drink. Take four times a day,
watermelon juice is also useful.
Carrots: 310 ml of carrot juice mixed with 125 ml of spinach
juice every day treats the problem of hypertension.
Garlic: Take 6 drops of garlic juice mixed with 3 tsp of
water four times a day is beneficial. Eating raw garlic after the meals treats
hypertension. Garlic leaves juice mixed with water is also beneficial. As the
condition improves reduce the dose.
Butter Milk: It is useful both in high and blood pressure.
The use of butter milk with asafetida is beneficial in hypertension. Mix a small amount of salt also.
Henna: People suffering from hypertensive can get relief by
periodic application of henna paste on hands and feet.
Honey: It has favorable effect on the body, reduces the
hyper activity of arteries and lowers blood pressure.
Psyllium Husk: Soak overnight 2 tsp of psyllium husk and 30
grams of sugar candy in a clay pot. Strain it in the following morning and
drink. It is useful in hypertension.
Taro root and apple gourd are also beneficial for curing hypertension.
