good for the people with diabetes grapes are actually rich in phytonutrients
and these nutrients plays a role in a disease prevention, cognitive function
and immunity.
However it's important
to keep in mind that all fruits and fruit juices contain carbohydrate and people
with diabetes need to control their carbohydrate intake. Depending on the carbohydrate
goals for the meals and snacks person should be able to fit grapes and/or grape
juices into meals but keep an eye on the portion.
Also it's generally recommended
that eating fresh fruit instead of drinking juice better. Fruits such as grapes
contains significant amount of fiber, vitamins and minerals they are ideal food
for people with diabetes.
Consuming fresh fruits
rather than fruit juices provides diabetes with more nutrients and helps them
better manage their blood sugar levels.
According to studies fresh
fruit contains significantly more fibers which slows down digestion and helps
diabetic feel more full. If diabetics drink juice then it should be combined
with a meal containing fat and protein to slow down digestion and to make blood
sugar levels to rise more slowly. People with diabetes who drink fruit juice to
treat hypoglycemia should check blood sugar levels before and after drinking.
