Eczema is a chronic skin condition characterized by inflammation and redness lead to bleeding, dryness. flaking and cracking of the skin. These symptoms can show up on the face ears arms and legs although eczema usually starts in infancy, it can also occur in adulthood.


The exact cause of eczema is not known however it's a genetic condition that links to an overactive immune system certain allergies, stress, chemical irritants and asthma can also cause eczema. There is no known cure for eczema however following natural remedies can help manage the flare-ups and lessen the pain and severity of this condition.

Pomegranate:  Grind pomegranate leaves and apply the paste on the part affected with eczema, this will be helpful.

Yarn:  It provides relief from eczema if eaten as vegetable for a considerable period.

Lamb’s Quarters: Boil lamb’s quarters, squeeze out the juice and take it every day, also take it as vegetable. Use the boiled water for washing the affected part.

Grind the raw lamb’s quarter leaves and squeeze out the juice, mix two cups of the juice with ½ cup of sesame oil and heat it on low flame, when water gets evaporated, strain the oil and store it in a bottle. Apply it on the affected part for considerably long period to derive full benefits.

Lemon: Scratch the affected part little and apply lemon juice four times a day, it will provide relief from eczema.

Banana: Grind banana pulp and add lemon juice to it, its application will be beneficial. If the affected part appears to be swollen, do not worry. Application of banana pulp with lemon juice will bring relief.

Papaya: Application of papaya juice on the part affected with eczema is beneficial.

Carrots: Grate carrots finely, add rock salt and heat it. Dress the affected part with it when it is hot, this will provide relief in eczema.

Mix 185 ml of carrot juice, 250 ml of the juice of beetroot and 125 ml of cucumber juice and drink it.

Potato: Drinking the juice of raw potato provides relief from eczema.

Garlic: Burn garlic cloves into ash, mix it with honey. Its application on the parts affected with eczema in infants is quiet beneficial. For grownups both internal and external use of garlic is beneficial.

Radish: Grind radish seeds in lemon juice into a paste, heat it and apply on the affected area. On the first day, its application may cause burning and pain but it will diminish on the second day. Gradually healing will take place. It is beneficial in both dry and wet eczema.

Water chestnut: Grind a dry water chestnut in lemon juice. Its application at first will cause burning but soon it will have a cooling effect. Its application for some days will help in healing of eczema.

Green Gram: Soak green gram in only as much of water as can be absorbed by it. After two hours grind it into paste and apply on eczema and ring worms, it will beneficial.

Turmeric:  Application of turmeric paste thrice during the day and once at night helps in the healing of eczema.

Black Pepper: Grind black pepper and take it mixed with clarified butter of cow’s milk. It helps in the healing of all types of itch and eczema.




Red Chili: The application of the red chili oil in eczema is beneficial. Mix 175 grams of red chili powder in 375 ml of mustard oil and heat it. Strain it after it has been boiled properly, it is known as red chili oil and cures eczema.

Salt: Anoint every hour the part affected with eczema with salt water. It will help in healing eczema in a week.

Caraway Seeds: Grind caraway seeds in hot water and apply it on the affected area or boil caraway seeds in water and use the water to wash the affected part.
Basil: Take 12 ml of the juice of basil leaves every day if you are suffering from eczema.

Application of the juice of basil leaves mixed with lemon juice in equal quantity is helpful in the healing of eczema.

Grind 100 basil leaves and ¼ tsp of salt and mix with ½ tsp of lemon juice, its application is useful in eczema.

Grind 100 basil leaves and five garlic cloves and apply the paste on the part affected with eczema.

Clean the affected part, rub a piece of lemon on it, then grind basil leaves into a paste and apply it on the affected part, do it two times a day for fifteen days.
Indian Lilac: Drink 12 ml juice of Indian lilac leaves every day to get relief from eczema.

Burn a piece of green Indian lilac wood. When you burn it, tiny water drops will be secreted by the unburned portion, apply these drops to the affected area.
For total healing of eczema, apply the paste of Indian lilac leaves prepared by grinding the leaves in the curd.

Milk: Taking milk with rose petal jam is beneficial in eczema.

Sesame Seeds:  Prepare an ointment by mixing 2 tsp each of sesame oil, taramira oil, ground resin and 1 tsp of yellow wax (used in medicine). Its application on the affected part provides relief.

Method: Heat sesame oil, mix 2 tsp of ground resin and I tsp of yellow wax, then mix taramira kohl.

How to prepare kohl: Light an earthen lamp using taramira oil. Allow it to remain lit for four days and collect the soot for kohl. Mix this kohl with above preparation.

Use: Its use provides relief from eczema, boils, cracking or chapping of the skin of the fingers, heels etc.

Onion: Application of the paste prepared by ground onions seeds in lemon juice twice a day for a month or two brings relief from eczema.
