How to control blood sugar with diet.
High blood sugar can
cause a number of health problems especially in people with a family history of
the disease. Diabetics must monitor their diet to control their blood sugar
levels.

Eat more fiber: Fiber
cleanses the system and soluble fiber helps control your blood sugar levels. Vegetables
are high in fiber especially green leafy vegetables.
Fruits, nuts and legumes
are rich source of fiber, as are whole-wheat product. Soluble fiber is very
important for maintaining good health. It is found in such foods as beans, nuts,
oats and seeds.
Flax seeds are both a
good source of fiber and for maintaining the balance of blood sugar.
Oatmeal digests slowly
which prevents the blood sugar from spiking up dramatically, while providing the
body with the slow release of energy.
Lentils and legumes, all
of these foods, contain soluble fiber which delays sugar and carbohydrate
absorption.
Eat more non starchy
vegetables like spinach, avocado and green beans are excellent examples of these
type of vegetables. They are low in carbohydrates so they do not affect the
blood sugar and they are also high in fiber also have a cleansing effect.
Add cinnamon into your
food. Researchers believe the cinnamon has a great effect at reducing blood
sugar levels, so add cinnamon to your regular diet to reduce high blood sugar
levels.
Fish is high in protein
which does not influence glucose, fish also has less fat and cholesterol. Fish
also have high levels of omega-3 fatty acids which lower fats called triglycerides
and promotes overall heart health.
Take healthy
carbohydrates like barley, oats and brown rice, bread and cereals are also healthy.
Eat some carbohydrates
in each meal but only a reasonable portion, eat more non starchy vegetables,
eat some protein,
Drink lots of water,
keep some water in the refrigerator with the lemon slices added to it. Try to
drink six to eight glasses of water a day to keep yourself hydrated, by following
all these diabetes can be controlled.
