Weakness of digestion or indigestion leads to pain in the part related to digestive system, flatulence causes heaviness, relentlessness, nausea and vomiting. Loss of appetite, indigestion, feeling of surfeit and stomach derangement all means that food eaten is not digested. The diarrhea caused by dyspepsia is called as sprue.  

Lemon: Cut a lemon slice, heat it, sprinkle salt on it and suck on it to get relief from indigestion. It will improve the digestive system. Lemon is very useful in all ailments of the liver.

Take a half glass of lemon water with sugar every day in case of loss of appetite, indigestion and sour burps.

Squeeze a lemon in glass of water, add some salt and one tsp of ginger juice to it and drink.

Guava: It is good treatment for dyspepsia, loss of appetite and flatulence, people suffering from any of the issues mentioned should eat 250 grams of guava after meals, and others should eat it before meals.

Cauliflower: By consuming mixed juice of cauliflower and carrots in equal quantity is beneficial in treating dyspepsia, joint pains and improving eyesight.
Lamb’s quarters: Have it as cooked vegetable or drink its juice. It cures all types of stomach ailments, liver, spleen, indigestion, flatulence, worms, piles and stones.

Curd: Eating curd regularly with roasted cumin seeds, salt and black pepper cures dyspepsia and improves digestion.

Cloves: Grind two cloves and put it in half cup of boiling water, let it cool down, and drink this three times a day to get relief from indigestion.

Asafoetida: Take asafoetia powder, small black myrobalan, rock salt and caraway seeds in equal quantity. Take spoonful three times a day with hot water to cure indigestion.

Cumin Seeds: Mix cumin seeds, dried ginger powder, rock salt, long pepper, black pepper in equal quantity and grind them. Take a spoonful of this mixture with water to improve digestion.

Boil two tea spoon of cumin seeds in glass of water, when it cools down, strain it and take ½ cup three times a day.

Mix a teaspoon of roasted cumin seeds powder with teaspoon of honey and have it twice a day after meal for curing indigestion.

Coriander: If it is difficult to digest food and if there is urge to pass stools immediately after meals, take 60 gram of dried coriander powder, 25 grams of black pepper, and five grams of salt. After mixing them together, grind it. Take ½ tsp of the powder after meals daily.

Indian Lilac: Grind 25 grams of dried Indian lilac leaves, three cloves, three black pepper, add little water and sugar. Take it twice a day to treat indigestion.

Water: If someone is suffering from dyspepsia and is finding difficult to digest food, then do not eat anything for a day and only consume water.

Radish: People suffering from indigestion should eat radish with salt and black pepper powder daily for two months.

Pineapple: Eating pineapple slice with salt and black pepper powder gives relief from indigestion.

Papaya: If there is issue of indigestion and it is advisable to eat papaya.
People suffering from loss of appetite, dyspepsia, indigestion, stomachache and sour burps should eat papaya in breakfast for twenty days.

Carrots: If someone is not able digest clarified butter, oil or oily things, take 310 grams of carrot juice mixed with 185 ml of spinach juice.

Onion: Cut an onion into pieces, squeeze a lemon on it and eat it with meals. It will provide relief from indigestion.  If the patient is child giving five drops of onion juice will be beneficial.

Buttermilk: If the indigestion is due to clarified butter, oil, an groundnuts. Taking buttermilk will be beneficial.

Mustard: For curing indigestion take 3 grams of mustard seeds powder in water.

Salt: If the digestive system is not working properly, even eating light meals causes diarrhea, dysentery or constipation and body becomes weak, take 5 grams of black salt dissolved in hot water. Children should take it once in a month or two.

Some people suffer from the problems of sour burps after meals in such cases giving up salt altogether or taking very little provides relief from indigestion. The reason is that there is already a lot of hydrochloric acid, which is sour, in the digestive juices of the stomach. This acid is generated by salt. If the salt is not taken, the excessive acids in the stomach are reduced to the normal level and will provide relief in stomach related problems.
Ginger: Mix ginger juice with lemon juice and rock salt and take it twice a day, before and after meal. It will improve indigestion.

Mix ½ teaspoon of dried ginger powder with little jaggery and take it after meals for few days. It sharpens the appetite, tones up digestive system and cures stomach ailments.

Eating guava with dried ginger powder helps in the digestion of food and improves the appetite. Take it at least for ten days regularly.

Basil: Chewing basil leaves with black pepper provides relief from indigestion and loss of appetite.

Coffee: Take coffee after meals, strong coffee provides agility and relief from stomach ache after meals or indigestion caused by opium eating.

Red Chili: 5 drops of the homeopathic mother tincture Capsicum Anum made of red chili taken in a teaspoon of water before meals dyspepsia.

Cinnamon: Frequent eating of a little bit of cinnamon, dried ginger and cardamom provides relief from indigestion.
