Hemorrhoids also known as piles that
affect many people in the United States at some point in their lives .
Generally it occurs in the age of 45 to 65. This common
problem occurs when
veins in the anus and rectum becomes swollen and inflamed.
There are several
factors contribute to piles like family
history, constipation, a lower fiber diet ,
heavy lifting, obesity, food allergies, lack of physical activity, pregnancy and
prolonged sitting and standing.
Hemorrhoids are
mainly divided into two
types that are internal and external.
Internal hemorrhoids develop inside the rectum
and an external hemorrhoid occurs just below the skin around the anus.
Common symptoms
of piles are blood clots or lumps around the anus, bleeding during bowel movement,
irritation near the anal, urge to have bowel movement even then there
is no stool.

Some home remedies for
hemorrhoids
Ice: The first home treatment that is highly
recommended and available
is ice. Ice will help constrict the blood vessels, reduce swelling and give immediate
pain relief.
Direction - Apply an ice pack or partially melted piece of
ice wrapped in a cloth directly on the affected area for about 10 minutes. Do
this several times a day until the hemorrhoids goes away.
Lemon Juice: Lemon
juice has several nutrients that can provide relief from hemorrhoids by
strengthening the capillaries and blood vessel walls.
Direction- Saturate the
cotton ball with freshly squeezed lemon juice and apply it on the hemorrhoid .
When you use this remedy for first time it may give some milder tingling or
burning
sensation, but will also provide relief from pain soon.
Almond Oil: Almond oil has emollient and deep tissue
absorption properties, almond oil is mainly used for
external hemorrhoid treatment.
Direction- Take a cotton ball and dip in pure
almond oil and apply it on affected area, it helps to moisturizers and ease inflammation.
It will relieve the burning and itching sensation around the
anus. Repeat this several times a day.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Due to estrogen properties
of ACD, it helps shrink swollen blood vessels
and gives relief from swelling and irritation for both internal and external
hemorrhoids. For fast result it is advised to use unfiltered and
unpasteurized vinegar.
Directions- For external hemorrhoids take a cotton ball
and soak in apple cider vinegar gently press a cotton ball against the
inflamed area, initially there will be a stinging sensation but soon there will
be relief from the itching and irritation. Do this several times a day until the
swelling decreases.
Direction- For internal hemorrhoids take a glass of water
add 1 tea spoon
of apple cider vinegar and stir it well. Drink it at least twice a day, honey can
be added to make it taste better.
